Story
Hello and thank you for checking out my fund raising page for the Keep a Child Alive charity!
In February of 2023 I set myself a personal challenge of running a half marathon. For a man with a history of lower limb injuries (ruptured achilles, fused metatarsals and all round chocolate ankles), I believed this was about as far as my body would take. However, having completed a Half Marathon in Nashville on March 18th in a time of 1 hour and 45 minutes I suddenly caught the running bug.
KCA is a charity founded by Alicia Keys and has a mission to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable children, young people, adults and families around the world, with a focus on combating the physical, social and economic impacts of HIV/AIDS.
Any donation you can make will go directly to the Keep a Child Alive foundation and will motivate me to push that little bit further in each training session leading up to the marathon.
I am taking this very seriously and am targeting a time of 4 hours for my first marathon. Prior to this year I had never run more than 7 miles in one go and am relishing the challenge ahead.
My training will start at the end of April until race day on November 5th where I will be running in the most famous marathon in the world.
I will be eternally thankful for any donations and will need all the support I can get to push my tired body through this immense challenge.
